Now surgery compartment in train for prompt treatment
A special surgery compartment is launched in Railway Medical Van
Mumbai: Several times a victims in railway accidents face death due to delay in treatment. Hence, with the motive to provide timely medical treatment to injure people, a special surgery compartment is launched in Railway Medical Van. The President of Railway Board Arunendra Kumar inaugurated this compartment.
An air-conditioned department was manufactured at the Lower Parel Car shed. So far, the Railway Medical Van was used only to provide medical help and first aid on accident location but now emergency surgeries are also possible on-the-spot. A special ward which can admit 12 patients at a time is also set up inside the compartment. This initiative will be really helpful to the passengers.
‘Happy journey’ for ‘Guard’ as well
Guards of freight trains will now have a comfortable cabin with facilities like wash basin, mirror, 360 liters water tank, mobile charger and easy chair. The walls of Guard’s cabin will be equipped with glass wool insulation to lower the temperature and protect the cabin from harsh sun rays.
This is for the first time that railway guards are offered such facilities. Now it will be a ‘happy journey’ for guards as well.
