Pakistan jets kill 25 militants in air strikes
Islamabad: Pakistani air force jets today pounded militant positions in the restive northwest, killing at least 25 terrorists.
The attacks took out rebels in Sanzila area of South Waziristan and Tirah in Khyber, the two districts on the border with Afghanistan.
An army official said that “25 militants were killed in precise attacks”.
The identity of those killed is not known but the region is infested with al-Qaeda-linked Taliban militants.
Pakistan last year launched a military operation against militants and so far has killed more than 2,700 terrorists who are still far from being defeated and continue to target security forces as well as civilians.
