Pay traffic fine online!
Traffic cops’ turn towards technology in New Year!
The state government has also allotted funds for the system. Now it is mandatory for the drivers to register vehicle number along with the contact details and email id so that if the driver found violating the traffic rule, he/she can pay the fine by credit card and could get the receipt on the mobile or in the mail box.
In the year 2004, some things in the Mumbai’s traffic department have been changed. The new technology will dilute the raising pressure of this department.
There are 25 various departments in Mumbai where the traffic fine was used to get collected and was later it was submitted to the head office located at Worli.
Talking with Prahaar, ACP Vivek Phansalkar, Mumbai Police, Traffic cell, said, “Now the traffic rule violators can pay the fine through credit card and can get the receipts on their mobiles as well as via email. Thus the new technology would help in curbing the corruption,” he said.
The traffic department has not stopped here; the department has taken special care that the new technology would not be misused.
The traffic department had recruited 300 new posts in the year 2003 and 50 Assistant Police Inspectors have been promoted. The signal system at Kalanagar, and at Borivali-Don Bosco School have been beautified and the traffic police has succeeded in barring the congestion on Milan sub-way.
The traffic police department has also helped the railway planning department to curb the congestion problem at Dadar, Kurla and Borivali stations.
Thus Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan is going to popularize the concept designed in the year 2004 in which major issue will be of safe city, women’s safety, and precautions to take while driving on the road, etc.
