The government has approved planning budget of Rs 150 crore for development of Ratnagiri
Ratnagiri: The government is making available more and more funds for development of the district. Approval of Rs 150 crore annual funds for Ratnagiri indicates the same. Last year, 99.99% funds were spent on development of the district, informed the guardian minister of Ratnagiri Uday Samant in a press conference.
Meeting of District Planning and Development Committee was held on Monday. He was speaking to press after the meeting. He said, members of planning committee were asking more funds during meeting for developments. The government is making funds available for the same. This year funds of Rs 150 crore are approved by the government.
More funds were demanded for gymnasium; accordingly provision of funds for it is raised from Rs two lakh to Rs seven lakh. The construction work of gymnasium will take place by Grampanchayat and committee.
In this meeting, they discussed about tourism as well. All the tourist places in district will be developed to meet standards of other tourist attraction of the state. ‘Machal’ will be developed as a model tourist place under this program. Planning of this development is undertaken and funds will be made available for this project, informed Samant.
He further said, as monsoon has begun in the region, necessary instructions are given to concerned officials. He also mentioned halted ST bus transport in the region due to 102 bad conditioned roads. Samant said instructions to resume this service are given and it will not remain closed for long time.
