Police inspector, constable held for taking bribe


Nashik, Dec 12 (PTI) Two police personnel were caught red-handed while allegedly accepting bribe, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials said today.

Assistant police inspector Pankaj Pawar and constable Sarang Eknath Wagh, attached to Panchavati police station here, were caught red-handing while taking bribe of Rs 10,000 along with one more person Nana Samadhan Borade at Phule Nagar police post yesterday, an ACB press release said.

The trio had demanded bribe from complaints, a father-son duo, involved in a criminal case, for favouring them by preparing a report in their favour, which was to be submitted to the court.

Following the demand, the father and son filed a complaint with the local ACB unit. A trap was laid and the two policemen and Borade were arrested.

Further investigation into the matter was on.
