Prahaar celebrates its 5th anniversary!
Prahaar launched its English web portal ‘eprahaar.in’ along with the launch of it’s e-book and a dedicated mobile site in the hands of Narayan Rane, Kumar Ketkar and Nana Patekar
Mumbai: Daily Prahaar, a leading Marathi newspaper, is celebrating its 5th anniversary today. It was launched by Narayan Rane, Minister of Industry, Port, Employment and self Employment on 8 October 2008, under the banner of Rane Prakashan Pvt. Ltd. While he serves as the Consulting Editor, veteran journalist Mahesh Mhatre is the editor of the newspaper.
In five years, Prahaar has emerged as one of the most widely read Marathi dailies in Maharashtra.
The journey is an outcome of straightforward news that suffices ‘Words with the edge of Truth,’ Prahaar’s motto. The journey was possible only because of strong support from the readers. The anniversary celebrations will be celebrated at Shanmukhanand auditorium in Matunga today.
On the first anniversary of the newspaper, Prahaar presented its e-paper for the online readers. On the fifth anniversary, Prahaar came up with its English news portal for the online readers across the world. Consulting editor Narayan Rane launched the English news portal and wished a good luck. Along with the English news portal, the daily also launched its dedicated mobile website for its readers. Senior journalist Kumar Ketkar launched the application. In addition to this, ‘Wadivasti’, a Marathi e-book comprised of articles written by eminent personalities was also published in the celebration program.
Noted journalist Kumar Ketkar, Editor-in-chief Daily ‘Divya Marathi’ and versatile actor Nana Patekar were the chief guest of the program. Ketkar stressed the importance and necessity of secular ideology in the society. He targeted saffron politics and appealed the audience to take an appropriate decision for keeping the unity of the country strengthened.
In his speech, Nana Patekar shared his personal memories about Narayan Rane and called him “the best chief minister of the state I have ever seen” in his speech. He courteously referred Rane as a ‘man of word’ mentioning about Rane’s efforts as the chief minister providing government funds to social work taken up by Baba Amte’s foundation ‘Anandvan’.
In his speech, Narayan Rane, consulting editor Prahaar, expressed satisfaction over the daily’s achievements and also expected the daily to be the best in delivering straightforward news and public welfare information. He said, “I strive to be the best in my field and I expect you be keep seeking the best,” he said.
Mahesh Mhatre, Editor-in-chief, Daily Prahaar, welcomed the guests and briefly mentioned the daily’s achievements in the past few years.
Dr Nilesh Rane, Member of parliament, Loksabha, director, Rane Prakashan was present along with Nitesh Rane, director, Rane Prakashan and president, Swabhiman Sanghatana with other dignitaries at the program.
Indian Idol and ‘Saregamapa’ fame artists like Vipul Mehta, Debanjana Karmakar, Poorvi, Devendar Singh and Vishwajeet Singh entertained the audience with their mesmerizing voices. The program was attended and enjoyed by people of all walks of life.
