‘Premium Train’ to run between Mumbai-Goa
Railway administration has decided to introduce ‘premium’ tickets with the aim to increase revenue
This practice was tested by running premium ticket trains between Mumbai-Delhi which witnessed huge success. Now the same service will be provided on 20 selected busy routes all over the country which includes Mumbai-Goa route as well.
The ‘premium’ service will help to make available tickets to the passengers on busy routes and also increase railway’s revenue. The test run on Mumbai-Delhi route had earned 37 per cent additional revenue to railways. The time limit for sell of premium tickets will be seven days as of now and presently only reservation tickets are available under this service.
Currently, no other service than faster journey are presented by Premium railway but we are planning to provide some special facilities in future, informed Sharat Chandrayan, Chief Public Relation Officer, Western Railway. This service will facilitate ‘confirm’ ticket of railway journey now.
