President Mukherjee accepts Jayanthi Natrajan’s resignation


Moily to hold the Environment Ministry’s additional charge along with Petroleum and Natural Gas

JayanthiNew Delhi: Day after allowing the norms of agriculture and plantation along the Western Ghats, Environment and Forests Minister Jayanthi Natrajan resigned from the post today.

She sent her resignation to the president Pranab Mukherjee and President Mukherjee accepted Jayanthi Natrajan’s resignation, as advised by the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.

Natrajan, Minister of State, was serving an independent charge for Environment and Forests. As per the prime minister’s advice, the president has directed that M. Veerappa Moily who is serving as the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas shall be given the additional charge of work of Ministry of Environment and Forests.
