Reliance Infra to organize energy conservation awareness drive for students


RInfra plans to reduce around 50 MTs of carbon dioxide

RinfraMumbai: Reliance Infrastructure (RInfra) today declared it plans to educate 25,000 students for spreading energy conservation awareness through its Young Energy Savers (YES) campaign this year.

RInfra plans to sensitize 1 lakh consumers this year by educating 25,000 students from 25 schools in Mumbai. The company, which had initiated the program four years ago, has set a target of educating 1.5 lakh students from 200 schools, thereby sensitizing more than 7 lakh consumers by the end of 2013.

“The program is aimed at sensitizing kids towards energy conservation and inculcates energy saving habits in them from a young age. Kids are an excellent channel to communicate and influence their parents to inculcate energy saving habits. RInfra plans to reduce around 50 MTs of carbon dioxide,” it said in a statement.
