Resident doctor falls ill with TB in Nair Hospital


Around 40 persons related to medical field are infected with the disease

doctor-e1371106546396Mumbai: A third year student who was working as a resident doctor, was recently found infected with Tuberculosis here. He has been treated along with the psychological counseling sessions.

In a recent medical report the physician was found infected with Tuberculosis.

Recently Dr Samida Khandare of Lokmanya Tilak hospital at Sheev was infected to death by Tuberculosis. After the physician’s death the hospital authorities decided to introduce protein rich food in the physicians’ diet as a precaution along with a check up after every three months.

A senior doctor said that the resident physician felt weakness so the medical tests were conducted. The reports came on Monday in which it was cleared that the resident doctor was infected with TB. The medic also said that the physician was being treated in the hospital.

Meanwhile Dr Mini Khetrapal of Mumbai District TB Control Society said that around 40 persons related to medical field have been found infected with TB.

It is reported that two persons have been died due to the disease yet so far.
