maharashtra police

Thane : A senior police officer in Thane has called upon the people to weed out ‘bad elements’ from the society who were harming the growth and well-being of the citizens.

The about two per cent bad elements in the society try to ruin it with their misdeeds. Hence, it is high time for the rest 98 per cent of the law abiding citizens to come together and fight against them, Thane’s Joint Commissioner of Police V V Lakshmi Narayana said at a book launch on diabetes here last night.

Lamenting that the concept of joint family was fading nowadays, Narayana said such a family atmosphere is essential for the betterment of the children and the society.

He also asked to youngsters to desist from having a lavish birthday bash and instead donate a bottle of blood which could save a life.

This kind of approach of giving back to the society will go a long way in maintaining a healthy society, he said.
