Shivsena tries hard for credit of the buses, criticized
KDMC Mayor Kalyani Patil’s recently released press release has raised speculations from other parties as the release clearly gives credit only to Shivsena corporators for new buses’ arrival in corporation’s transport service
Kalyan: KDMC Mayor Kalyani Patil’s recently released press release has raised speculations among the corporators as the release clearly gives credit only to Shivsena corporators for arrival of new buses in corporation’s transport service. Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has criticized the Shivsena for credit grabbing act. Thus it is clear that the credit war will flame high before the buses actually start serving the citizens.
Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation has assigned Rs 6 crore for 20 new buses to add into the team of corporations transport wing from its funds.
Rajesh Kadam, Chairman, Transport Committee, said, “The buses have been sanctioned not only by Shivsena members but members of MNS, BJP, Congress and NCP also share the credit. Shivsena leaders also represent the auto rickshaw unions. Their efforts will not seed to flourish the transport service. If the transport service strengthens, there will not be bread and butter for them,” he said.
Though Shivsena is in power at KDMC while MNS leads the transport committee. BJP’s corporator Mahesh Joshi who is also a member of transport committee said that the press release from Mayor herself has cornered Rajesh Kadam, the transport committee chief and have misguided all the corporators of other parties along with MNS for cheap publicity.
The arrows of criticism are now targeted at the Mayor. Kalyani Patil, Mayor, KDMC, clarified and said, “There is no such issue of gaining credit. New buses will be served for public without any program,” she said.
With the efforts from Sanjay Dutt, MLA, 200 buses will be added under union government’s Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM).
Sachin Pote, Leader of the house, Congress, said, “When the central and state governments have funded the buses, Shivsena and MNS leaders are taking credit for the reason,” he said.
