Sindhudurg should grow through tourism
All the concerned authorities has to come together and plan the development of Sidhudurg in available resources, the Governor of Maharashtra K Sankarnarayanan said
Sindhudurg: Sindhudurg district is enriched and self-content with natural resources like Goa and Kerala. It must strive towards the development of Sindhudurg’s tourism in the same way like these two states. All the concerned authorities has to come together and plan the development of Sidhudurg in available resources, the Governor of Maharashtra K Sankarnarayanan said.
He was speaking at the program which included e-governance project, presentation of Sindhudurg district tourism project, inauguration of tourism documentary and launch of revenue management system in Sindhudurg.
The event was also attended by Radheshyam Moplewar, Konkan Divisional Commissioner; Vikaschandra Rastogi, Secretary to the Governor; E Ravindran, District Officer; Deeplaxmi Padte, President of Zila Parishad; Kishor Tawade, Additional District Officer; Rajan Teli, President of District Bank; Satish Sawant, President of District Congress, Dilip Pandharpatte, Chief Executive Officer of Zila Parishad along with others.
Basic facilities should be highlighted to develop tourism. Ordinary tourist should also get all the facilities. When executing e-governance in the district, underprivileged class must also be provided with all the services and for this, administrative officers should change their mentality, said the Governor.
On the occasion, the District Officer E Ravindran reviewed progress of Sindhudurg. He informed that the district is successfully running country’s first e-office project. Also, the presentation on the topics like tourist places in Sindhudurg, tourism plans, future layout of the district, information on projects in Wayangani and Tondavali along with ambitious tourism project was highlight of the event.
