Six killed, 30 injured in bus accident in China
Beijing: Six persons were killed and 30 others injured when a passenger bus overturned on a highway in eastern China today.
The bus turned on its side on Hangzhou-Huizhou highway when driving down a ramp while en route to Zhejiang Province’s capital Hangzhou from Anhui Province, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
The injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals.
In a separate incident, a coach of a passenger train en route to Changsha from Chengdu derailed between Changyang and Yichang cities in central China’s Hubei Province.
No casualties were reported in the mishap.
Passengers were safely evacuated and were accommodated in three other trains sent to the accident site, the news agency reported. Cause of the accident is being investigated.
Traffic has since been restored on the route.
