SSST to spend Rs 57 cr over Kumbh devotees
Shirdi (Maha): Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust (SSST) has decided to spend Rs 57 crore to provide basic amenities for lakhs of devotees, who are likely to visit Shirdi shrine during the forthcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela at Nashik, later this year, a senior official of the trust said today.
The Simhasthan Kumbh Mela will be held at Nashik-Trimbakeshwar in August and September.
Rajendra Jadhav, SSST’s executive officer said at least 25 lakh devotees are expected to visit Shirdi shrine during this period and hence a three-member-committee of SSST has sanctioned a proposal of Rs 57 crore for providing basic amenities to the devotees.
The proposal was sent to the Aurangabad bench of the Bombay high court for its “sanction” and the court has approved it last week, he said.
These funds will be used for making arrangements like parking, toilets, bathrooms.
They will be also used for providing food to the devotees and installing CCTV cameras among others, Jadhav said.
