State Govt. plans stringent law enforcement to avoid the accidents
License cancellation orders for those committed five accidents
Mumbai: The state government would form a strong law with amendments in the present one so as to avoid the road accidents, Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan informed. Chavan asked the State Transport department why the licenses of those drivers who had committed five accidents earlier, were not been canceled.
CM also asked the road transport department why the licences of those found guilty in the ‘Drunk and Drive’ cases, were not canceled. He was speaking at a ‘Road safety Week’ program, organized at Sahyadri rest house, here. Home Minister R R Patil along with Satej Patil and actor Aamir Khan were present at the program.
Chavan expected a stringent action against those found driving when drunk and voiced grief about the absence of action.
Thus, Chavan said that a new law will be formed for safe transport in future. Home Minister Patil expressed his concerns about the transport department. He said, “Many are given the licences without verification. There is no control on issuing the licenses, thus many problems have to be faced,” he said. Actor Amir Khan greeted the ‘Road Safety Week’ and said that each citizen should take the accidents seriously and asked all to follow the traffic rules.
