State home department promotes, transfers police personnel
Thane: Promotions and transfers of police personnel initiated by the Maharashtra state home department last week saw more than 2500 police personnel either promoted or transferred, sources said here monday.
This is besides the transfers effected before the general elections.
During the last week the state home department, especially the Director General of Police promoted as many as 95 police inspectors to the post of Assistant Commissioners of Police or Deputy Superintendents of Police as well as posted them to various places.
Orders issued throughout last week also include promotion of 394 assistant police inspectors to the post of police inspectors, 1,110 police sub-inspectors to the post of assistant police inspectors and also 124 head constables to the post of police sub-inspectors.
Besides these promotions, 492 police inspectors, 58 assistant police inspectors and 131 police sub-inspectors have been transferred in the reshuffle.
