The Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan announced the state-of-art cultural center costing Rs 20 core in Nagpur
Nagpur: The Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan announced on the occasion of Late Vasantrao Naik’s birth anniversary that the state-of-art cultural center costing Rs 20 core, will be built in Nagpur to provide platform to local artists of Vidarbha.
He was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of 3rd All India Women’s Local Art Convention at Dr Vasantrao Deshpande auditorium.
The convention flagged off with lamp lighting ceremony by dignitaries and performance on Saint Tukaram’s Bhaarud by Lok Kala Akadamy and Ex-students of Mumbai University.
Deputy Chairman of the Legislative council, Vasant Davkhare was on the position of a President for this program. The Minister in-charge Shivajirao Moghe, Minister of Food and Civil Supplies Works Anil Deshmukh, Water Resources Minister Sunil Tatkare, Minister of Environment and Cultural Affairs Sanjay Deotale attended this event along with Prof Varsha Gaikwad, the State minister for woman and child welfare, Presidents of Convention Madhu Kambikar and Rahi Bhide.
On this occasion CM said, artists do a noble work of social awareness. Therefore government is taking firm steps to resolve their issues and problems. He also announces certain important schemes for artists such as benefits of life insurance for artists, double fees for the artists over the age of 50 years, annual financial aid to organize this convention, aid to the regional art festival organized by Mumbai University, making of High Definition Digital Films by cultural department to conserve arts and their screening in schools and colleges, establishment of a training center to train rural artists and give their payments. He also added that 10-12 women representative will be sent to foreign countries to gain knowledge about their art programs.
