The First and Tallest Multiple entry fire chute for self -evacuation in India at Kharghar
Navi Mumbai: The first and tallest single entry fire escape chute for self-evacuation is introduced in India. The non-mechanical system is from Sweden and to be used in high rise tall building structures.
This will take 30 minutes to evacuate about 200 people from 20 storey building. The ‘Fire Evacuation Chute System’ is very simple to use; be it 5 year old child to 60 years old person. Even disabled people can use this system by jumping in the chute as a free fall and exiting very safely on the ground. This system is for fast and safe evacuation of people from buildings under threat from Earthquake, Fire and acts of terror like toxic gas and explosion. This system has been used in several Consulates, Embassies, Buildings, Hospitals, and Fire Departments in the developed nations.
This installation is done by Arihant Superstructures at Arihant Abhilasha, Sector 35. Kharghar, Navi Mumbai which is a project of 234 residential units. They had arranged a live demonstration of people jumping from 8th and 18th floor & people landed safely on the ground floor. Arihant made the city development aware of this system. This event was witnessed by seniors officers in MMRDA, CIDCO, Fire Officers, MLA Vivek Patil, Chief Engineer NMMC Dhagaokar and few other dignitaries attended the demo.
