Three killed, 35 injured in bus accident in J-K
Srinagar: Three persons were killed and 35 others injured when a private passenger bus carrying them today skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Budgam district in central Kashmir, police said.
The 48-seater bus was on its way to Srinagar from Raithan village when the driver lost control near Palpora village, 35 kms from here, while negotiating a curve, a police spokesperson said.
While two persons died on the spot, another succumbed to injuries at a hospital here, he said, and identified the deceased as Ghulam Hasan, Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh and Ejaz Ahmad Lohar (all residents of Khan Sahibd area).
Most of the 35 injured were discharged after administering first aid, but seven seriously injured passengers were still undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Srinagar, he said.
