Two killed in road mishap in Rajasthan
Jaipur: Two youths were killed when an unidentified vehicle hit their motorcycle in Bhilwara district of Rajasthan, police said today.
Shivraj (19) and Raju (25) were killed last night when the unidentified vehicle hit their bike in Pander police station area, they said.
The bodies of the deceased were handed over to their family members after post-mortem, police said, adding that the matter is being investigated to ascertain the identity of the vehicle and its driver.
Three of a marriage party killed in accident
Sheikhpura (Bihar): Three relatives of a bridegroom were killed and 12 others seriously injured when a vehicle carrying a marriage party fell into a roadside ditch near Sirari Railway Station in Sheikhpura district, police said today.
The driver of the vehicle, carrying the marriage party which was coming from Bhandar village in Lakhisarai district to Belchhi village in Sheikhpura district, lost control at a sharp turn and fell into a 25-feet-deep ditch last night, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Naresh Kumar Sharma said.
The deceased were the bridegroom’s elder brother, his nephew and a relative. The injured were admitted to Sheikhpura Sadar Hospital.
The bridegroom was safe as he was travelling in another vehicle.
Four killed, eight injured in road mishap in UP
Ghazipur (UP): Four persons were killed and eight others injured after being crushed by a jeep in Kotwali area here, police said today.
The incident occurred last night when the jeep driver lost control over the vehicle and ran over the victims who were walking on the roadside near Kaithalia village, they said.
Four persons, identified as Vishwanath (50), Shravan (35), Vishal (22) and Premlata (52) died on the spot, they said.
Eight persons were seriously injured and have been referred to Varanasi for treatment.
A case has been registered against the unidentified jeep driver who is absconding, they said, adding, agitated locals also blocked the road in protest.
Three killed in accident
Malda (WB): Three labourers were killed and seven others injured when a truck, carrying them, overturned on the National Highway 34 near Baliadanga in this district, police said today.
All the victims were sitting on stones being carried by the truck when it met with the accident last night.
The injured were hospitalised.
Three killed as tractor-trolley overturns in UP
Lakhimpur (UP): Three persons were today killed and another injured when a tractor-trolley overturned in the Isanagar area here, police said.
The accident took place this morning when the tractor driver Sunil (30) lost control of the vehicle attempting to save a stray dog on the road and it overturned near Nibahra village, they said.
The other two deceased were identified as Teerath (35) and Neeraj (18).
The tractor which was carrying wheat husk in the trolley to Sisaiya crossing for sale, has been seized, police said.
The injured has been admitted to the hospital where his condition was stated to be stable, they added.
