Mumbai: The much buzzed ‘pink queen’ of Mumbai is soon to run in the city with 43 captains at her service. Out of them, there are three Marathi ladies who will drive the Mumbai Monorail in coming times.
After the test run, media persons gathered around two of the Marathi ladies with confidence.
Juilee Bhandare, 23, is a lady Captain from Alibaug and has completed her Electric and Telecom diploma from Yadavrao Tasgaon College. She joined the Mono train team last year and finished the three month long training which has boosted her confidence. She said, “As all are attracted at Monorail so as my family and I are attracted at the train. My job is starting after two days and I am feeling happy to drive the first Mono train of the country. Earlier it was a big challenge for me but after the training I am feeling more confident. I had never thought of joining this service,” she said.
“The Monotrain does not move ahead without closing all the doors thus strong security has been beefed up for the mono train. Thus I am all set to drive the train from February 2nd itself,” said Pooja Keni, resident of Malad who will be driving the passengers soon. Pooja has completed her Engineering and Telecom education from Atharva college. Pooja said, “I am all excited so as my family as this is my first job and in addition it is with the first Mono train in the country.
